The dunes hum when sand slides down them, which is where the name comes from. The climb to the ridge is about forty minutes of very hard walking in sand.

“Long-haul group trips for people with two weeks and no plan”
Route planning was the strong point — long days, but the stops were in the right places. Hostel nights are basic but clean, and that's what the price says. Whoever planned the days knew what they were doing. No hesitation recommending them.
7 days of proper riding. The support vehicle was never far when someone needed it. Dorms were tidy and the common areas were where the group actually gelled. Would book with them again.
Thank you. We've taken the point about the transfer and are reviewing it.
Machines were well maintained and the daily briefings were short and useful. Nothing fancy about the beds, and nothing wrong with them either. The lead was calm and knew when to slow the group down. Worth every rupee.

One of the bikes had problems from day two and the spare took a while to arrive. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones.
Thanks for writing this up. We've passed your note to the team.

Not on this trip. The Kazakh eagle hunters are in Bayan-Olgii in the far west, about 1,700 km from the Gobi and reached by a separate flight. Combining them honestly needs eleven or twelve days.
