Jagdalpur Hostel
Hostel, homestay or tent, shared
4 days, planned by Sleeper Class Co.
Four days in Bastar — a waterfall wider than it is tall, limestone caves with no lighting, and a weekly market that is the actual point of coming.

Chitrakote is about thirty metres high and spreads to three hundred wide after the monsoon, which is why it gets called the Niagara comparison it does not need.

Kotumsar has no installed lighting — you go in with a guide and a lamp — and it closes entirely through the monsoon because it floods.

The haat is a working market, not a display — people come to trade, and the etiquette about photographs is explained before you walk in.

“The same routes by train and guesthouse”
Overnight trains, guesthouses and no private cars. Slower and a fraction of the price, and the trains are half the point.
Chhattisgarh done well. The itinerary had room to breathe. Recommended.
Thank you for travelling with us — glad the route worked out.
Well paced over 4 days with enough free time to not feel herded. Hostel nights are basic but clean, and that's what the price says. Food was plentiful and hot, which counts for a lot at altitude. Would book with them again.
Everything was arranged properly — transfers, entries, all of it. Nothing fancy about the beds, and nothing wrong with them either. Worth every rupee.
Thanks for writing this up. We've passed your note to the team.

Hotels were a step below what I expected for the price.

Chhattisgarh done well. The itinerary had room to breathe. Good value for what's included.
Ask before photographing anyone, accept no as an answer, and do not photograph people who are drinking or the salfi sellers. The guides brief this properly before you walk in, and both operators will end a visit over it. These are people's weekly shop, not a cultural performance.
