Top Highlights

  • GandantegchinlenEleven days north to the taiga — the opposite end of the country from the Gobi, and green rather than stone.
  • Erdene ZuuKarakorum was Ögedei Khan's capital and almost nothing of it is left — Erdene Zuu was built out of its stones in 1586.
  • Terkhiin Tsagaan NuurThe lake was formed when a lava flow blocked the valley about eight thousand years ago, and the crater that produced it is a half-hour walk.
  • Gorkhi-TereljThe forty-metre steel Chinggis Khaan statue is on the way and is exactly as strange as it sounds.

11 days of proper riding. The support vehicle was never far when someone needed it. Food was plentiful and hot, which counts for a lot at altitude.

Machines were well maintained and the daily briefings were short and useful. Plenty to eat and they were happy to work around a gluten allergy.

11 days of proper riding. The support vehicle was never far when someone needed it. No complaints about any of the hotels — all of them well placed. Good value for what's included.

Arkhangai and Khövsgöl on two wheels is the way to see it. No complaints about the organisation. Hotels were clean and central, which saved a lot of time. Whoever planned the days knew what they were doing. No hesitation recommending them.

Arkhangai and Khövsgöl on two wheels is the way to see it. No complaints about the organisation. Meals were good throughout and the vegetarian options weren't an afterthought. Solid operator.
