BEFORE YOU GO · CAUTIONARY DETAILS
Check the altitude before you book the flight
Leh is at 3,500 m and you arrive there by aeroplane in an hour from sea level, which is the fastest ascent most people will ever make. Two full days doing nothing on arrival is the standard advice and it is not optional because you are on holiday rather than a trek.
A holiday itinerary still has hard days in it
Pass crossings by road, long transfers and early starts are normal on these trips. Read the day plan rather than the brochure photograph.
Ask what the group size actually is
A group holiday is priced on filling a coach. It is a fair question and the answer changes the trip completely.
The places you pass through are lived in
Ask before photographing people and houses, take your shoes off where others do, and buy locally where you can. A holiday moves through more communities in a week than a trek does.

Well paced over 6 days with enough free time to not feel herded. Dorms were tidy and the common areas were where the group actually gelled. Would book with them again.

Hotels were a step below what I expected for the price. The lead was calm and knew when to slow the group down.

Thank you. We've taken the point about the transfer and are reviewing it.

Everything was arranged properly — transfers, entries, all of it. Dorms were tidy and the common areas were where the group actually gelled. The cooking was a genuine surprise — better than most places we'd have picked ourselves. No hesitation recommending them.

Well paced over 6 days with enough free time to not feel herded. Meals were good throughout and the vegetarian options weren't an afterthought. No hesitation recommending them.

Appreciate the honest feedback; we're looking at the pacing on that section.

Good mix of the obvious things and a few places we'd never have found.

Too much time on the coach and not enough at the places we'd come for. The lead was calm and knew when to slow the group down.

Questions people ask

Five and a half hours to cover ninety-six kilometres, and it is a UNESCO World Heritage railway climbing 1,600 m through a hundred and three tunnels. The road takes three hours. It is the reason to do this trip in this direction.
