8 days, planned by Meridian Overland
Eight days to the Tsingy — limestone eroded into vertical blades, reached by two ferries and a road that is only a road in the dry season.

The baobabs are Adansonia grandidieri, endemic, and the alley is what is left of a forest that was cleared around them.

Eight hours for about two hundred kilometres. The ferries are barges poled and pushed across, and the road is impassable in the wet season.

You move through the Tsingy on fixed cables in a harness. The Petit is where you find out whether you are comfortable doing that.

Tsingy means "where one cannot walk barefoot". The rock is dissolved limestone in vertical blades and the circuit crosses a chasm on a suspension bridge.

There is one road and you take it both ways. Most groups stop at Kirindy on the way if the light holds.

Second trek with this operator and they've kept the standard up. Camp was pitched and the kitchen going by the time we walked in each evening. The team read the group well and adjusted without making a thing of it.
Glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you on another trip.

Did this over 8 days and it was the best walking I've done in years. Sleeping under canvas at that height is cold work and the kit was up to it. Whoever planned the days knew what they were doing. Solid operator.
Long transfer at both ends that isn't obvious from the listing. Budget a day either side. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones.
Thank you for travelling with us — glad the route worked out.
Menabe in the right season is something else, and the team knew exactly where to camp. No hesitation recommending them.
Thank you. We've taken the point about the transfer and are reviewing it.
Well organised from the pickup onwards. The daily distances were honest about what they'd be. The campsites were well chosen — sheltered, and close enough to water. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones.

The trek itself is good but the group was too large for the trail on the summit day. The lead was calm and knew when to slow the group down.
Thanks for writing this up. We've passed your note to the team.
Eight hours for two hundred kilometres, on track, with two river crossings on barges. It is genuinely rough and it is the reason the Tsingy sees so few visitors. In the wet season it is not passable at all and the park closes.
