Bugyal Trails guesthouse, Sankri
Guesthouse, triple sharing
6 days, planned by Bugyal Trails
A long, scenic drive up the Yamuna and Tons valleys. We stop for chai at Mussoorie and lunch at Purola, and reach Sankri as the light goes. Rooms are allotted, the lead runs through the plan and checks everyone's kit.

The first walking day: a steady climb through pine and oak on a well-marked trail, with the group pacing itself against the treeline rather than the clock. Camp sits above the frozen lake with the summit ridge behind.
LANDMARKS

Oak and pine forest
A short day on purpose. The forest thins to meadow, the summit cone comes into view, and the afternoon is kept free so the body catches up with the height before summit night.

Headlamps on at 2 AM for the slow line up the ridge. Sunrise from the top takes in Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Black Peak and Ranglana. Then all of the height comes back on the long descent to Hargaon.

---
Kedarkantha Summit
Swargarohini view

A gentle downhill through the forest on a different trail, past shepherd huts and the old water mill, into Sankri by early afternoon for a hot shower and a slow evening.

The same road in daylight, with a lunch stop on the way. Most groups reach Dehradun ISBT by 7:30 PM, in time for the night trains and buses to Delhi.

“The long way up, at the pace it deserves”
Bugyal Trails has run the Sankri circuit since 2015. We keep batches at fourteen, put two leaders on every group above ten, and we do not run a trek that has fewer than four people signed up — we refund and tell you three weeks out rather than merging you into somebody else's batch on the trailhead.
Long transfer at both ends that isn't obvious from the listing. Budget a day either side. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones.
Thanks for writing this up. We've passed your note to the team.
Second trek with this operator and they've kept the standard up. Would send friends their way.
Second trek with this operator and they've kept the standard up. Recommended.
Did this over 6 days and it was the best walking I've done in years. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones. Would book with them again.
Thank you. We've taken the point about the transfer and are reviewing it.
The route is beautiful and the pacing was sensible — nobody was rushed on the climb.
Appreciate the honest feedback; we're looking at the pacing on that section.
Did this over 6 days and it was the best walking I've done in years. Hotels were clean and central, which saved a lot of time. Simple food, well made, and enough of it. Recommended.

The operator you picked on the compare screen. MyAdventure holds your payment until departure day, handles refunds, and steps in if the batch is cancelled.
