Check the altitude before you book the flight
Leh is at 3,500 m and you arrive there by aeroplane in an hour from sea level, which is the fastest ascent most people will ever make. Two full days doing nothing on arrival is the standard advice and it is not optional because you are on holiday rather than a trek.

Pass crossings by road, long transfers and early starts are normal on these trips. Read the day plan rather than the brochure photograph.

Flights are grounded for wind fairly often, and the itinerary keeps day five morning free as a second attempt. If both mornings are blown out the flight is refunded in full — nobody can fly you in a gale.
