Check the altitude before you book the flight
Leh is at 3,500 m and you arrive there by aeroplane in an hour from sea level, which is the fastest ascent most people will ever make. Two full days doing nothing on arrival is the standard advice and it is not optional because you are on holiday rather than a trek.
A holiday itinerary still has hard days in it
Pass crossings by road, long transfers and early starts are normal on these trips. Read the day plan rather than the brochure photograph.

Well paced over 5 days with enough free time to not feel herded. Rooms were comfortable and the locations meant we could walk most evenings.

Kerala done well. The itinerary had room to breathe. Accommodation was a notch better than the price suggested. Never went hungry, and the tea appeared exactly when it was needed. Would book with them again.
