Overnight trains, guesthouses and no private cars. Slower and a fraction of the price, and the trains are half the point.

No. Manikarnika and Harishchandra are working cremation grounds and photography is prohibited and deeply resented. Anyone offering you a "photo spot" there for money is running a scam.
