BEFORE YOU GO · CAUTIONARY DETAILS
Learn the wet exit before anything else
Getting out of a capsized boat calmly is the one skill the whole day rests on, and it takes ten minutes to learn.
Dress for the water, not the air
You will be wet. A warm afternoon over cold water is still cold water.
Wind matters more than distance
A flat crossing into a headwind is harder than twice that with it behind you. The guide's route will change with the forecast.
Sunburn comes off the water too
Reflected light gets the underside of your chin and your forearms. Long sleeves beat reapplying.

Boat was crowded. Fine for the diving, less fine for the surface intervals.

Instruction was patient — I came in nervous and finished wanting to book the next level. Nothing fancy about the beds, and nothing wrong with them either. Simple food, well made, and enough of it. Would send friends their way.

Visibility was excellent and the boat ran on time every morning. Nothing fancy about the beds, and nothing wrong with them either. Whoever planned the days knew what they were doing. Worth every rupee.

Instruction was patient — I came in nervous and finished wanting to book the next level. Dorms were tidy and the common areas were where the group actually gelled. Plenty to eat and they were happy to work around a gluten allergy. Would send friends their way.

Kit was in good condition, which matters more than people realise. Dorms were tidy and the common areas were where the group actually gelled. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones. Good value for what's included.

Appreciate the honest feedback; we're looking at the pacing on that section.

Questions people ask

No. It needs a dark night and reasonable plankton, and both operators schedule the night paddle within a few days of the new moon to give it the best chance. Cloud helps, a bright moon kills it. Nobody can promise it and neither operator does.
