Twelve hours, and it is the price of Munsiyari being as far into Kumaon as the road goes. Take the night train from Kathgodam.

“The same Himalayan routes in dorm tents and shared transport”
The budget half of the same market. Dorm tents, shared jeeps and no porters unless you hire one — and the same leaders on the hill.
The trek itself is good but the group was too large for the trail on the summit day. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones.
Thanks for writing this up. We've passed your note to the team.
Pace was set for the fastest people in the group and it made the middle days hard. The team read the group well and adjusted without making a thing of it.
Glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you on another trip.
Second trek with this operator and they've kept the standard up. Sleeping under canvas at that height is cold work and the kit was up to it. Would book with them again.
Uttarakhand in the right season is something else, and the team knew exactly where to camp. The team read the group well and adjusted without making a thing of it. Recommended.
Well organised from the pickup onwards. The daily distances were honest about what they'd be. Sleeping under canvas at that height is cold work and the kit was up to it. Plenty to eat and they were happy to work around a gluten allergy. Solid operator.
Well organised from the pickup onwards. The daily distances were honest about what they'd be. Tents were warmer than expected and the camp was set up before we arrived. The team read the group well and adjusted without making a thing of it. Worth every rupee.
The route is beautiful and the pacing was sensible — nobody was rushed on the climb. Recommended.

Appreciate the honest feedback; we're looking at the pacing on that section.
Yes, on the way out. Munsiyari is the last town on the road into inner Kumaon and there is no shorter way. Both operators break the inbound journey at Chaukori for that reason.
