Jagdalpur Residency
Hotel or lodge, twin sharing
4 days, planned by The Monsoon Ledger
Four days in Bastar — a waterfall wider than it is tall, limestone caves with no lighting, and a weekly market that is the actual point of coming.
LANDMARKS
---
Bastar
Jagdalpur
Sal forest
Chitrakote is about thirty metres high and spreads to three hundred wide after the monsoon, which is why it gets called the Niagara comparison it does not need.
LANDMARKS
---
Chitrakote falls
Indravati river
Kotumsar has no installed lighting — you go in with a guide and a lamp — and it closes entirely through the monsoon because it floods.
LANDMARKS
---
Kotumsar cave
Tirathgarh falls
Kanger Valley National Park
The haat is a working market, not a display — people come to trade, and the etiquette about photographs is explained before you walk in.

Good mix of the obvious things and a few places we'd never have found. Hotels were clean and central, which saved a lot of time. Whoever planned the days knew what they were doing. Would send friends their way.
Good mix of the obvious things and a few places we'd never have found. Recommended.
Good mix of the obvious things and a few places we'd never have found. No complaints about any of the hotels — all of them well placed. Solid operator.
Appreciate the honest feedback; we're looking at the pacing on that section.
Hotels were a step below what I expected for the price. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones.
Thank you for travelling with us — glad the route worked out.
Chhattisgarh done well. The itinerary had room to breathe. No complaints about any of the hotels — all of them well placed. The cooking was a genuine surprise — better than most places we'd have picked ourselves. Solid operator.
Well paced over 4 days with enough free time to not feel herded. No hesitation recommending them.
Everything was arranged properly — transfers, entries, all of it. Rooms were comfortable and the locations meant we could walk most evenings. The team read the group well and adjusted without making a thing of it.
Too much time on the coach and not enough at the places we'd come for. The team read the group well and adjusted without making a thing of it.

Ask before photographing anyone, accept no as an answer, and do not photograph people who are drinking or the salfi sellers. The guides brief this properly before you walk in, and both operators will end a visit over it. These are people's weekly shop, not a cultural performance.
