Climbing Uluru has been prohibited since October 2019 at the request of the Anangu traditional owners. The base walk is the visit, and it is better.

Kata Tjuta is thirty-six domes and the tallest is two hundred metres higher than Uluru. The Valley of the Winds circuit closes by 11 AM in heat.

Did this over 6 days and it was the best walking I've done in years. The campsites were well chosen — sheltered, and close enough to water. No hesitation recommending them.

The trek itself is good but the group was too large for the trail on the summit day. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones.

Northern Territory in the right season is something else, and the team knew exactly where to camp. Food was plentiful and hot, which counts for a lot at altitude. Recommended.
