BEFORE YOU GO · CAUTIONARY DETAILS
Check the altitude before you book the flight
Leh is at 3,500 m and you arrive there by aeroplane in an hour from sea level, which is the fastest ascent most people will ever make. Two full days doing nothing on arrival is the standard advice and it is not optional because you are on holiday rather than a trek.
A holiday itinerary still has hard days in it
Pass crossings by road, long transfers and early starts are normal on these trips. Read the day plan rather than the brochure photograph.
Ask what the group size actually is
A group holiday is priced on filling a coach. It is a fair question and the answer changes the trip completely.
The places you pass through are lived in
Ask before photographing people and houses, take your shoes off where others do, and buy locally where you can. A holiday moves through more communities in a week than a trek does.

Well paced over 7 days with enough free time to not feel herded.

Good mix of the obvious things and a few places we'd never have found. Dorms were tidy and the common areas were where the group actually gelled. Plenty to eat and they were happy to work around a gluten allergy. Would book with them again.

Everything was arranged properly — transfers, entries, all of it. Dorms were tidy and the common areas were where the group actually gelled. The team read the group well and adjusted without making a thing of it. Good value for what's included.

Hotels were a step below what I expected for the price. The team read the group well and adjusted without making a thing of it.

Good mix of the obvious things and a few places we'd never have found. Nothing fancy about the beds, and nothing wrong with them either. Would book with them again.

Questions people ask

Guna Yala is autonomous. The Guna set entry fees per island, decide what is built and prohibit photographing people without permission — and enforce all of it. Accommodation is basic cabins with no hot water and often no electricity after dark.
