Antigua Camp

Seven days, including a night facing an erupting volcano. The highlands only — Antigua, Acatenango and Atitlan — in five days, dropping Tikal and its flights.
Antigua was the capital until a 1773 earthquake, after which the government left and the ruins stayed. It is a UNESCO site because of what was not rebuilt.

Well organised from the pickup onwards. The daily distances were honest about what they'd be. Tents were warmer than expected and the camp was set up before we arrived. Crew were professional without being stiff about it. Solid operator.
Pace was set for the fastest people in the group and it made the middle days hard. The lead was calm and knew when to slow the group down.
Thanks for writing this up. We've passed your note to the team.
Long transfer at both ends that isn't obvious from the listing. Budget a day either side. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones.
Thank you. We've taken the point about the transfer and are reviewing it.

Highlands & Peten in the right season is something else, and the team knew exactly where to camp. The lead was calm and knew when to slow the group down. Solid operator.
Did this over 7 days and it was the best walking I've done in years. No hesitation recommending them.
Second trek with this operator and they've kept the standard up. Sleeping under canvas at that height is cold work and the kit was up to it. Crew were professional without being stiff about it. Worth every rupee.

Glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you on another trip.
