Havelock Lodge

7 days, planned by Tidewrack Voyages
The medical questionnaire is not a formality — a yes to anything on it means a doctor's sign-off before you get in the water, and that is hard to arrange on an island.

Havelock jetty
Dive centre
Everything that frightens people about diving is practised here, deliberately and repeatedly, in water you can stand up in.
LANDMARKS
---
Nemo Reef
House reef
Skills repeated at twelve metres, then time to actually look around. Green turtles are routine on this site.
LANDMARKS

At the end of dive four you are a certified Open Water diver, qualified to eighteen metres anywhere in the world with a buddy.
LANDMARKS
---
The Wall
Soft coral
Napoleon wrasse
Dixon is a submerged pinnacle an hour out with barracuda schooling over it. It is a proper dive site and the first one you visit as a diver rather than a student.

No diving today. You need at least eighteen hours between your last dive and a flight, and this is that gap.

Bharatpur Beach
Natural Bridge
Laxmanpur
More than twenty-four hours since the last dive by the time you fly, which is the conservative margin and the right one.

“Reefs and islands, with the marine park fees always included”
A dive and snorkel operator that publishes marine park fees in the headline price because hiding them is how the industry got its reputation.
Instruction was patient — I came in nervous and finished wanting to book the next level. Would send friends their way.
Glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you on another trip.
Great few days in the water. Briefings were clear and nobody was pushed beyond their level. The teahouses were warm and the beds were fine after eight hours walking. Would book with them again.
Kit was in good condition, which matters more than people realise. Every night's lodge was a step up from what I'd braced for. Crew were professional without being stiff about it. Good value for what's included.
Instruction was patient — I came in nervous and finished wanting to book the next level. Lodges along the way were simple and comfortable enough after a long day. Whoever planned the days knew what they were doing. Good value for what's included.

Great few days in the water. Briefings were clear and nobody was pushed beyond their level. Rooms were basic in the best way — dry, warm, and right where we needed them. The lead was calm and knew when to slow the group down. Worth every rupee.
Thanks for writing this up. We've passed your note to the team.
PADI requires a two-hundred-metre swim, untimed and any stroke, plus ten minutes of floating. That is genuinely the standard — it is about comfort in water, not speed.
