Two or three hours mostly on your feet on hard ground. Comfortable shoes matter more than fitness.

Markets, lanes and places of worship are where people live and pray. Ask before photographing anyone and cover up where others do.

Good mix of the obvious things and a few places we'd never have found. Hostel nights are basic but clean, and that's what the price says. The cooking was a genuine surprise — better than most places we'd have picked ourselves. Would send friends their way.

Everything was arranged properly — transfers, entries, all of it. Dorms were tidy and the common areas were where the group actually gelled. Plenty to eat and they were happy to work around a gluten allergy. Would book with them again.

Questions people ask

Not reliably. The Joint Security Area tour is suspended more often than it runs and depends entirely on the security situation. The standard DMZ tour — the tunnel, the observatory, Imjingak — runs almost always, and that is what is included.
