Top Highlights

  • Hassan II MosqueEight days through northern Morocco — the imperial cities and the Rif, none of which the Marrakech and Sahara trip reaches.
  • Kasbah des OudayasFes el Bali is the largest car-free urban area in the world — around nine thousand lanes, and goods still move on mules.
  • Chouara tanneryAl-Qarawiyyin was founded in 859 and is generally called the oldest continuously operating university in the world.
  • Chefchaouen medinaThe blue was applied over the last century and the explanations vary — Jewish refugees, mosquitoes, or tourism.
  • Spanish MosqueThe Akchour walk is four hours on a good path to a natural rock arch, and it is the reason to stay two nights rather than one.
  • Tangier kasbahTangier was an international zone until 1956, governed jointly by nine countries, and it still feels like nowhere in particular.

Well paced over 8 days with enough free time to not feel herded. Hostel nights are basic but clean, and that's what the price says. Crew were professional without being stiff about it. Would send friends their way.

Good mix of the obvious things and a few places we'd never have found. Nothing fancy about the beds, and nothing wrong with them either.

Well paced over 8 days with enough free time to not feel herded. Dorms were tidy and the common areas were where the group actually gelled. The lead was calm and knew when to slow the group down. Good value for what's included.
