BEFORE YOU GO · CAUTIONARY DETAILS
Distances are short, the standing is long
Two or three hours mostly on your feet on hard ground. Comfortable shoes matter more than fitness.
The route is public space
Markets, lanes and places of worship are where people live and pray. Ask before photographing anyone and cover up where others do.
Cash for the small things
Tea, a fritter, an entry ticket. Card acceptance in old quarters is patchy at best.
Ask what the group size will be
A walking tour of six and one of thirty are different products at the same price. It is a fair question.

Everything was arranged properly — transfers, entries, all of it. Rooms were comfortable and the locations meant we could walk most evenings. The team read the group well and adjusted without making a thing of it. Worth every rupee.

Everything was arranged properly — transfers, entries, all of it. Meals were good throughout and the vegetarian options weren't an afterthought.

Appreciate the honest feedback; we're looking at the pacing on that section.

Well paced over 6 days with enough free time to not feel herded. Recommended.

Good mix of the obvious things and a few places we'd never have found. Hotels were clean and central, which saved a lot of time. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones. Worth every rupee.

Flanders done well. The itinerary had room to breathe. No complaints about any of the hotels — all of them well placed. Crew were professional without being stiff about it. Good value for what's included.

Questions people ask

Ghent. It has comparable medieval fabric, the Van Eyck altarpiece, and it is still a working city with 70,000 students in it. Bruges is more beautiful and considerably more crowded — best seen by staying the night, when the day coaches have gone.
