BEFORE YOU GO · CAUTIONARY DETAILS
Confined spaces are the activity
There are sections you pass through on your stomach with rock against your back. If that is not for you, this is the wrong trip and there is no shame in saying so at the entrance.
Three light sources, always
A helmet lamp plus two backups is the standard. The operator supplies them; check yours works before you go underground.
Caves are colder than the walk in
Constant temperature year round, usually around 10-15C, and you will be wet. Layers under the overall, not over it.
Nothing comes out but you
No touching formations, no marks, no souvenirs. A stalactite takes a century to grow a centimetre and a second to break.

Hoi An was quieter than I expected and the camp was comfortable. Dorms were tidy and the common areas were where the group actually gelled. Whoever planned the days knew what they were doing. No hesitation recommending them.

Early starts, but that's where the wildlife is. Well run. Hostel nights are basic but clean, and that's what the price says. Plenty to eat and they were happy to work around a gluten allergy. Would send friends their way.

Excellent sightings and the guides clearly knew the area. Dorms were tidy and the common areas were where the group actually gelled. Meals were good throughout and the vegetarian options weren't an afterthought. Solid operator.

Questions people ask

Only on a permitted four-day expedition run by one licensed operator, capped at a few hundred people a year and costing around USD 3,000. It books over a year ahead. It is genuinely out of scope for this trip.
