BEFORE YOU GO · CAUTIONARY DETAILS
Distances are short, the standing is long
Two or three hours mostly on your feet on hard ground. Comfortable shoes matter more than fitness.
The route is public space
Markets, lanes and places of worship are where people live and pray. Ask before photographing anyone and cover up where others do.
Cash for the small things
Tea, a fritter, an entry ticket. Card acceptance in old quarters is patchy at best.
Ask what the group size will be
A walking tour of six and one of thirty are different products at the same price. It is a fair question.

Well paced over 7 days with enough free time to not feel herded. Accommodation was a notch better than the price suggested. Food was plentiful and hot, which counts for a lot at altitude. Worth every rupee.

Good mix of the obvious things and a few places we'd never have found. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones. No hesitation recommending them.

Well paced over 7 days with enough free time to not feel herded. No complaints about any of the hotels — all of them well placed. The lead was calm and knew when to slow the group down. Would send friends their way.

Mazovia and Pomerania done well. The itinerary had room to breathe. Rooms were comfortable and the locations meant we could walk most evenings. Whoever planned the days knew what they were doing.

Everything was arranged properly — transfers, entries, all of it. Hotels were clean and central, which saved a lot of time. Simple food, well made, and enough of it. Worth every rupee.

Mazovia and Pomerania done well. The itinerary had room to breathe. Accommodation was a notch better than the price suggested. Plenty to eat and they were happy to work around a gluten allergy. Worth every rupee.

Appreciate the honest feedback; we're looking at the pacing on that section.

Questions people ask

It is a reconstruction, and openly so. The Germans destroyed some eighty-five percent of the city after the 1944 Rising, and Poles rebuilt the old town through the fifties using surviving plans and Canaletto's eighteenth-century paintings. UNESCO listed it precisely as an example of reconstruction, not as a surviving medieval town.
