Leave a night in Sorong before flying. The ferry cancels in weather and missing it means missing an international connection.
Sorong connects through Makassar or Jakarta, and it is a long way to either.

“Reefs and islands, with the marine park fees always included”
A dive and snorkel operator that publishes marine park fees in the headline price because hiding them is how the industry got its reputation.
Kit was in good condition, which matters more than people realise. Accommodation was a notch better than the price suggested. Meals were good throughout and the vegetarian options weren't an afterthought. Worth every rupee.
Great few days in the water. Briefings were clear and nobody was pushed beyond their level.
Instruction was patient — I came in nervous and finished wanting to book the next level. Never went hungry, and the tea appeared exactly when it was needed.
Visibility was excellent and the boat ran on time every morning. Hotels were clean and central, which saved a lot of time. Crew were professional without being stiff about it. Worth every rupee.
Conditions were poor for two of the days, which nobody can control, but the schedule wasn't adjusted. The team read the group well and adjusted without making a thing of it.
Thank you. We've taken the point about the transfer and are reviewing it.

This trip is homestays, deliberately. A liveaboard reaches more sites and almost none of the money stays in the islands; the homestay network was set up by Papuan families and is the main reason local communities support the marine park. The rooms are simple — a bed, a mosquito net, a bucket.
