Check the altitude before you book the flight
Leh is at 3,500 m and you arrive there by aeroplane in an hour from sea level, which is the fastest ascent most people will ever make. Two full days doing nothing on arrival is the standard advice and it is not optional because you are on holiday rather than a trek.
A holiday itinerary still has hard days in it
Pass crossings by road, long transfers and early starts are normal on these trips. Read the day plan rather than the brochure photograph.

Good mix of the obvious things and a few places we'd never have found. Hostel nights are basic but clean, and that's what the price says. The cooking was a genuine surprise — better than most places we'd have picked ourselves.

France done well. The itinerary had room to breathe. Nothing fancy about the beds, and nothing wrong with them either. Never went hungry, and the tea appeared exactly when it was needed. Good value for what's included.

Yes — France, Switzerland and Italy are all in Schengen, so a single multi-entry visa covers the whole route. Apply at the consulate of the country you spend the most nights in, which here is Italy. Appointment waits are the longest part of planning this trip.
