“The same Himalayan routes in dorm tents and shared transport”
The budget half of the same market. Dorm tents, shared jeeps and no porters unless you hire one — and the same leaders on the hill.
Uttarakhand in the right season is something else, and the team knew exactly where to camp. Camp was pitched and the kitchen going by the time we walked in each evening. Food was plentiful and hot, which counts for a lot at altitude. Good value for what's included.
Did this over 5 days and it was the best walking I've done in years. Would send friends their way.
Well organised from the pickup onwards. The daily distances were honest about what they'd be. Worth every rupee.
The route is beautiful and the pacing was sensible — nobody was rushed on the climb. Never went hungry, and the tea appeared exactly when it was needed.

The valley is under snow the rest of the year and the park is physically shut. The bloom peaks in the second half of July and through August, which is also peak monsoon — expect rain most afternoons.
