Two or three hours mostly on your feet on hard ground. Comfortable shoes matter more than fitness.
The route is public space
Markets, lanes and places of worship are where people live and pray. Ask before photographing anyone and cover up where others do.

Tea, a fritter, an entry ticket. Card acceptance in old quarters is patchy at best.

Well paced over 5 days with enough free time to not feel herded. Dorms were tidy and the common areas were where the group actually gelled. Never went hungry, and the tea appeared exactly when it was needed. Worth every rupee.

Questions people ask

It depends entirely who runs it. The operators here use an organisation that employs residents as guides, returns most of the fee into local education programmes and prohibits photographing people. The jeep tours that drive through taking pictures are a different thing and are widely resented.
