Day 1
Thrill season• Himalayan passes, snow treks and open water Find your next one
Eight days to 5,895 m, the roof of Africa. The same route on a six-day mountain schedule, which drops the Karanga night and lowers the summit rate; larger groups and a shared guide.
The gear check is not a formality — the lead will send you to hire what you are missing and it happens on most departures.

The textbook acclimatisation day: 4,630 m at lunch, 3,960 m at night. It feels like wasted altitude and it is the reason people summit.
LANDMARKS
---
Lava Tower
Barranco Wall
Giant groundsels
The wall is the only place on the route where you use your hands. It is not technical and it is not for anyone badly afraid of exposure.

Short on purpose. You are in bed by seven and up again at eleven.

Do not fly the same day. The descent day before it is eleven hours long.

Kilimanjaro in the right season is something else, and the team knew exactly where to camp. Simple food, well made, and enough of it. Would book with them again.
Kilimanjaro in the right season is something else, and the team knew exactly where to camp. Would send friends their way.
Second trek with this operator and they've kept the standard up. Sleeping under canvas at that height is cold work and the kit was up to it. The team read the group well and adjusted without making a thing of it. Good value for what's included.
Pace was set for the fastest people in the group and it made the middle days hard. The lead was calm and knew when to slow the group down.
Glad you enjoyed it. Hope to see you on another trip.
Long transfer at both ends that isn't obvious from the listing. Budget a day either side. Guides answered every question, including the daft ones.
Thank you for travelling with us — glad the route worked out.
