What the course actually is

For climbers who can already follow a route and want to be the one placing the draws. Belaying a leader, clipping efficiently, falling safely and cleaning an anchor — taught on short, well-bolted sandstone with a soft landing zone.

Day by day syllabus

Structured training progression from foundational mechanics to assessed technique.

    Lead belaying and first clipsTraining
    07:00–11:00, 16:00–18:30Belay technique for a leader, then clipping drills on top-rope.

    Falling, on purposeTraining
    07:00–11:00, 16:00–18:30Progressive fall practice until it stops being frightening, then first leads.

  • Able to top-rope at grade 5 / 5.8
  • Have belayed a top-rope climber before
  • Own climbing shoes and harness, or hire them from us

  • Every route used has been inspected and rebolted since 2022
  • Helmets are worn at the crag by everyone, climbing or not
  • Fall practice happens above a clean landing with a spotter and a crash pad

If plans change

Cancellation

Full refund up to 7 days before the start. 50% between 7 and 2 days. No refund inside 48 hours.

Weather

Sandstone is dangerously weak when wet and we do not climb on it for 24 hours after rain. A washed-out day is rescheduled or refunded pro rata — we will not put you on damp rock.
